Chris Lafferty moved to North Carolina in 1998 with nothing more than racing goals and dreams in tow. Lafferty was all about developing the best racing engines in the world and went on to compete in the prestigious Clevite Engine Builders Challenge twice, scoring a first runner-up and semi-finalist finish. Lafferty has also been a feature writer in some of racing's most reputable magazines: Circle Track Magazine, Stock Car Magazine, and Speedway Illustrated.
After Lafferty created a successful racing engine business, he decided it was time to pursue his NASCAR dream, thus Lafferty Motorsports was founded in 2003. "Entering the world of NASCAR would be one of the biggest challenges to tackle but that was the excitement of it all," states Chris, "I entered racing very young and without the financial backing that team owners need." With his perseverance, nothing could stop him. Lafferty Motorsports has grown greatly under the leadership of Lafferty.
After setting the ground work for a solid foundation, Lafferty is now the primary driver for Lafferty Motorsports in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series as well as ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, taking over those duties late in the 2009 season.
