Lafferty to Pocono; Recap of Nashville, Indy
August 4, 2011
(Concord, NC) - The Lafferty Motorsports team is preparing for action this weekend at Pocono Raceway for the Good Sam RV Emergency Road Service 125. This will mark the third straight week of appearances by driver Chris Lafferty and his Lafferty Motorsports team, showing the commitment and ability to race consistently week in and week out.
Two weeks ago, it was Nashville Superspeedway where driver Chris Lafferty would start the race in the back of the pack. The night ended only 16 laps into the event with rear gear troubles. "We had a good truck," Lafferty said, "we were able to move up some spots and finished 31st."
Last week, Lafferty and the Camping World Truck Series took to the track at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indianapolis, IN. The day would end early, the result of a late practice crash. "We had a really good truck, able to turn about 20 laps in practice," said Lafferty, "we were passing a lot of good trucks on the track before the unfortunate incident."

Daytona ARCA Testing
December 20, 2009
(Daytona Beach, FL) - The Lafferty team is no stranger to Daytona, however this would mark the first laps ever turned at the famed race track by Chris Lafferty, " I was especially excited to go to Daytona for the ARCA test because I had never driven this place and i always wanted to, the only time that I got a little nervous was when we lost our power steering, it was unexpected and was a bear to handle. "
Joining the Lafferty team was new comer Justin Boston. "It was awsome to drive this place, I want to thank Chris and the team for giving me the opportunity to test with them." Justin later added that he was infact a tenth faster than Chris had been on back to back runs.
Lafferty Motorsports is pleased to say that Justin did infact get approved to run the upcoming Daytona ARCA event in February.

Phoenix ends season for Team Lafferty
Well the 2009 season closing race for Team Lafferty was less than spectacular, but left many knowing that the decision for Chris Lafferty to take over the wheel is no joke.
"We fought oil problems all week end long, which we thought was due to the oil tank being over full." As it turned out Lafferty later discovered when they got back to the shop that the entire dry sump systems had less than 7 quarts of oil left in a system designed to carry 16 quarts. "After an oil analysis we discovered that our oil was vaporizing at only 210 degrees." Normally synthetic oil can operate above 300 degrees.
In practice and qualifying, Lafferty knew they had issues, so they just rode around trying not to do anything stupid, but knew once the race started that they would have to kick it up a notch. "Once we were in the race we hit pay dirt and I could push a bit harder, but my limited laps in practice kept me cautous during the start of the race."
Many commented on how good the Lafferty truck looked during the start of the race running competitevly with some quality teams.
"I know now that I can do this, that excites me," Lafferty said.

Chris Lafferty Truck Debut set for Martinsville
October 5, 2009
(Concord, NC) - Lafferty Motorsports has slowly and steadily grown over the past five years since its inception in 2004. But October 24th at Martinsville Speedway will start a new chapter in this struggling team’s history. Team owner Chris Lafferty will climb behind the wheel for his first race in the NASCAR Camping World Truck series. Since 2004 Lafferty Motorsports has fielded an entry on a part time basis with the hopes of competing full-time in the years to come.
"I am very excited about driving, I love every opportunity that I have just to walk through the gates at a truck race and I know that I am truly lucky to be in this position to drive with the best drivers and best series out there," Lafferty said. The Lafferty team has been preparing extensively for this day and has high but reasonable expectations. "My plans are simple, I want to qualify respectively and race a clean race and come home with a good finish, so that these guys can be comfortable racing beside me. Many of these guys know me as an owner but this will be my first time with them as a driver."
Chris has done what may seem impossible. Coming to North Carolina 10 years ago with nothing, he has built a solid reputation as an engine builder, competing twice in the Clevite Engine Builders Challenge (now Mahle), writing for Circle Track Magazine, Stock Car Magazine and Speedway Illustrated. Starting Lafferty Motorsports with only a dream, Chris has been able to field trucks not only in NASCAR's top truck series but also fielding cars in the ARCA Racing Series as well as NASCAR's weekly Late Model and Street Stock divisions. Chris has gained national exposure for helping up and coming drivers achieve their goal, and will now be taking on the task of driver in the NASCAR Camping World Truck for his own NASCAR Camping World Truck Series team and will be in Phoenix as well as the season closer in Homestead (pending approval). Chris has done this with out any family money or any corporate backing which is definitely well earned.

Broken Clutch Puts End to Day in the Dirt
September 12, 2009
(DuQuion, IL) - After coming off a strong run a few weeks before in Springfield, the Lafferty team was excited about going to DuQuoin for the second dirt race in the ARCA Remax schedule. "I was nervous, because I was warned that DuQuoin was harder to drive," Chris Lafferty said. After a fresh set of tires, Chris had the comfort he needed to go fast. "I was just being easy with the car, it had a lot more in it in practice but I was just being conservative."
For qualifying, it was a different story as the Lafferty Motorsports crew chief persuaded Chris to push his limits. "I watched some of the fast guys in qualifying and told myself that I was going to drive in as deep as they did." Chris did, he drove the car as deep as he could but got loose coming off of turn two which ruined his qualifying run. "Off of (turn) two, I got in it and the car pushed and when I pushed back the car snapped loose. I had to do everything but stop completely to get the car back." Turn two was hectic for many, as multiple cars got loose and a few even crashed. The Lafferty team started the race in 29th when the green flag dropped and fought up to 23rd when the clutch finally gave out; leading the team to a disappointing 32nd place finish. "I feel confident that we had a top 20 car, but we could not show it," states Chris.

Lafferty Fights for a Finish
August 23, 2009
(Springfield, IL) - The Lafferty team made the long drive to Springfield, Illinois, to compete in the ARCA Remax Series race on the one mile dirt oval. After starting last in the 39 car field, and an early clutch problem that arose, Chris was able to battle to a 24th place finish. “I was having a great time, my crew worked extremely hard and I had to really concentrate on our pit stop because I had no clutch and I had to kill the engine to stop,” explained Chris Lafferty.
